Your page is incredible!!! I have never seen anyone like you in my life. My friends say you have been doing this for many years, and with your own money!! Our family would love to see your work on TV, instead we see the same old crap on Discovery and National Geographic, it shows you what idiots they are, sitting in their big offices, thinking that the shit they feed us is entertaining, while you explore the amazon alone, risking your life. God bless you Nick Paine, and the wonderful work you are doing. Donald R. Cowling

Dear Nick, I was born in the amazon of peru over 65 years ago, I am a teacher of anthropology, much of which I have learned growing up in the jungle, but how amazing it is to see such work of yours, in all my years, and all of the professors I have met, none have ever concentrated of the history of food in the amazon, you give great honor to the tribes and the people of my blessed Loreto in the peruvian amazon. I pray one day the world will catch on to what you are doing, and you will receive the honor you deserve. SELMIDA IRUYARI AHUANARI Professor of Anthropology

Hey, I just found your site and it's great. I'm interested in cultural foods as they are the very essence of health and survival. I've always wanted to go to the Amazon to learn about their foods and now you've done it.. What plants do they use for spices and what types of herbal "teas" do they drink? Hi Nick! I just found your page today and I share your addiction of trying exotic culinary foods from around the world. I have had many different ethnic dishes that some people I know would simply grimace at. If ever you need a right hand man to have join you in your escapades, I am that person. I am also quite adept in the kitchen when it comes to cooking. I am very serious about joining you. Please email me and let me know. Vlest319@aol.com

I had a wonderful time looking at the pictures of your top 10 expedition recipes! Nearly got a sick stomach as well... Thank-you for putting this on a website! I am looking for the recipe for juanes (as well as the symbolism behind each ingredient), so seeing a picture of what they are supposed to look like really helps. Thanks again! Rachel

I was looking for a recipe for my (half-anglo) 11-year old daughter could share with her classmates for international day. I wish I could share this great website as a slide show for the class. That would beat a plantain recipe I was hoping to find. L. Donayre

Mr. Paine, when I found out that with your own money you are doing all these incredible things, especially alone, I thought, man, what dedication! I would like to finance some of your upcoming expeditions. I will call the number on the wonderful foto cards you left with our students after your inspiring, captivating speech and presentation at our university, which, by the way, broke all attendance records. Hello Nick, our members and I own one of the largest cookbook libraries in the country. When I stumbled onto this site, I doubted your claim as the worlds only culinary archaeologist. Curious, we researched for over 3 months, and incredibly no one before your first appearance in 1996 had ever been bold enough to merge two distinctly different worlds of study into one new field of study. I can now tell you Mr. Paine, that officially we applaud you for being the first in your exciting new field of CULINARY ARCHAEOLOGY. Dr. Linden Arquette International Culinary Association New York

Hello Nick, Our family has just seen you on T.V. and wanted to say how wonderful and original your show is. Tribal life is so interesting, yet so far away from our world, and you bring them to us. You have chosen a great life, with so few doing what you do, you have been chosen, and you do it well. Bernard Mercier
